Pattern Design

My designs consist of two separate patterns inspired by the ecosystem of Audubon Beidler Forest Sanctuary. The bird pattern focuses on species native to South Carolina, such as herons, woodpeckers, and songbirds, capturing their forms and movement to highlight the region’s wildlife. In contrast, the foliage pattern is inspired by what sustains them, incorporating elements like berries, seeds, and plant life to reflect their natural diet and habitat. While distinct, both patterns are connected through the idea of coexistence, visually telling the story of how these birds and their environment rely on one another.
