Arches National Park research
Arches National Park has a deep geological history that dates back over 300 million years, when the region was covered by a vast inland sea. Layers of sediment, salt deposits, and minerals built up over time as the water evaporated, eventually forming the foundation for the park’s iconic red rock landscape. Millions of years of erosion, pressure, and shifting earth exposed these formations, carving the natural sandstone arches seen today.

This underwater past inspired my reversed poster design, where I flipped the expected visual perspective to reflect what once existed beneath the surface. By reimagining the landscape as submerged rather than exposed, the design connects past and present, highlighting the transformation of the environment while creating a visually unexpected and thought-provoking composition.
National Parks appreciation
This poster was created for Type Hike, a collaborative non-profit project founded by David Rygiol and James Walker that brings together designers to celebrate and support the outdoors through typography. Rooted in the belief that designers have a responsibility to make the world more beautiful, Type Hike partners with initiatives like the National Park Service to raise awareness and appreciation for natural landscapes.
This project allowed me to combine expressive typography with environmental storytelling, using design as a way to highlight the history and beauty of places like Arches National Park.
